Lately, I’ve been doing well with taking time for nature and exercise. With the sun setting earlier, on this Wednesday night I rushed to get to this hill on Nichols Trail, part of the Beaver Brook Association conservation land in Hollis, NH. After having the privilege of seeing three deer, I arrived in time to capture this sunset, with enough daylight to get back to my car before dark.
As I was completing my loop, I heard a hearty voice up ahead at the wooden bridge crossing Beaver Brook. Turns out, it was a man composing poetry! He took my email address so I’ll be able to read his work when he finishes the poem.
I’m feeling proud of myself for being in reasonably good shape—enough to power through the winding trails and up the hill without being very winded. The frequent summer hikes at Mt. Watatic in Ashby, MA have paid off.
